-- Display Streaks (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1686)
I just got my first Palm Device (Visor Deluxe) and on certain screens (Like on the Calendar Views or when looking at pictures in Viewer III, I have these streaks that are really bad. I played with the Contrast and that helps a little and used StreakHK, but the screen flickers when I use Streakhk.
Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?
Thanks
-Benson
Try adjusting your contrast. It's a fine balance, but I was able to eliminate MOST of the streaking by jogging between the lighter and darker settings.
Well, I find my display looks washed out whenever I load image viewer.
Also, I attempted to use TealMeal only to find my screen went blank. I couldn't fix it by turning on the power switch. I had to do a soft re-boot.
I get the same problem with Image Viewer. My screen gets lighter and the only way to get rid of it is a soft reset. Hopefully this is not indicative of a bigger problem. So far sounds to me like a software problem since it only seems to happen with Image Viewer. They'll probably come up with a new version to address this problem.?.?.?.
yeah, i am also having problems with image viewer III. can anyone recommend other software for viewing images?
drgandy,
yes, imageviewer images are also washed out for me. the free "album to go", which has download links on palmgear.com, is worth trying. i haven't played with it much but the images that i have on my bvd look good.
Tiny Viewer is a good alternative to Image Viewer. I think I got it at Palm Central.
I have tried using Tiny Viewer, Image Viewer III, PhotoAlbum, Album to Go, and ImagerX. All images were "washed-out" for me. The weird thing is that I had to do a hard reset (to recover from Handscape installation) yesterday and now my images are no longer washed out. I checked my Contrast control, and it's still in the middle of the slider bar. Go figure...
you all can also try the hackmaster hack called 'no sreak hack'. it allows you to adjust the refresh rate on the palm/visor. it will help with streaking and 'flickering' using certain greyscale apps.

The solution to your problem is NoStreakHack. I originally tried the other StreakHack, but both ImageViewer and AvantGo appeared washed out. In NoStreakHack, there is an option to "Enable in GrayScale Mode". Make sure that this check both is marked and all of your problems will be solved. Incidently, I found a setting of 2 to be the best in this program, but you'll have to experiment. Now, ImageViewer works fine...
