This morning, when I turned on my Visor Dlx to hotsync and download from Avantgo, I got the following message:

Fatal Error
Memory MgrNew.c
Line 4183, Invalid chunk ptr

After two hard resets failed, I deleted Big Clock from my backup file and restored with Backup Buddy. I've had no problem since then.

My only recent change had been to install Big Clock. (I did not have any alarm set.) Also, when I turned the Visor off last night the screen was showing an incomplete Pocket Chess game.

Can anyone tell me what the error message means and/or what the cause may have been?

The problem might be Pocket Chess. Someone reported compatiblity problems; and on some of the Palm boards/newsgroups I've seen some mention that it is not the most stable of apps.

I've been using big clock since i got my visor and havn't had any problems when accessing that program. Have had fatal errors with other programs though. soft reset always worked. Do you have hackmaster installed. You may want to turn off you hacks and see if problem goes away. I have had problems with the "hack" programs. the lefthack really screwed up my "tinysheet" program, but it is just trial and error. good luck.
