Lightbulb Active Armor

After taking a look at the Active Armor cases, I sent them an email asking when they might produce one for the Prism. I've included our email exchange:

Thanks for the feedback! We have new models in development and others under
consideration. I will add your "vote" to the Prism list. It won't be too
hard to put out a case for the Prism, but we need to generate some initial
sales on the regular visor case and gauge how much interest there is for the
Prism case. (We've already seen quite a few requests like yours for the
Prism.) We will be sure to let you know in advance if we make the decision
to release one.

In the meantime, we would appreciate it if you shared information on this
case with any Handspring Visor owners you know.

Thanks again,

Dan

I was enthused to see such a rugged case for the Visor line of handhelds.
Unfortunately, I've upgraded to a Visor Prism which will not fit in your new
case. While I can't speak for other Prism owners, I would gladly pay more
than $29.95 for one of your cases that fits my PDA and collection of
springboard modules. How about it!!

RE: Active Armor

I emailed them a while back, and got the same reply as you did, word for word.

These look like really great cases and if others on this board could take the time to email them and request a Prism version (even if you are already happy with your current case), then we might get them to go into production.

I too sent them an email, got the same reply.

I saw this case, and i'm in the process of buying a new case. I tried the Vaja case, and while I liked the high quality leather and the plastic covering over the buttons, I prefer a more simpler look. For my old Visor Deluxe, I used the Slim Bifold Case, simple yet effective, and I like the simple design. With the Active Armor, I like the futuristic, rugged look, and would definetly get one if they had it in a Prism model.

I agree with funngunn2. One of the great draws of the Active Armor is the looks. I think it looks like something out of Batman!

The reason is because they are not being made yet.

They will be identical to the black Active Armor in style and design, only with different colors. The silver version will be silver (naturally!) with a matching hard plastic cover. The translucent model will be a clear rubber with a clouded cover. They plan to release a clear hard cover in an accessory pack, which sould be out around the same time as the other cases.

Review of the Active Armor case

"I emailed them a while back, and got the same reply as you did, word for word. "

Hey.. some times it's hard to change the wording when you answer the same basic question about 75 times. (Yes, I've received a lot of requests for the Prism.)

... and the Translucent model will be out very soon for the standard Visor. Material supply issues are being resolved and you will not be dissapointed with the wait. The translucent material brings out some very interesting features on the case with the buttons and even the see-through protective ribs for drop protection. Sign-up for notification at our site and we'll let you know the first day we are able to ship.

Thanks for your interest!

Do you have a picture of the Platinum case version yet? Or is this the same as the translucents...? Might make my Blue VDX look a little more proffessional looking...

Thanks for your reply, BTW

No pictures of the Silver version yet. I've seen the material samples, but since it was the same type of material as the graphite, we didn't run trials. Just waiting on the material to arrive at the manufacturing location.

The graphite (black) is a pretty professional looking case... and it actually looks quite different with the clear lids that will be a part of an upcoming accessories pack. Just like the full translucent cases, for some reason it looks smaller visually. (My opinion) Go figure.

It's mostly just a preference. You'll be satisfied with the performance of either... heck, buy'em both.... they are only $30 a pop.

Probably would, except I am not sure how much more life my Visor has, and I would be upgrading to (at minimum) a Prism...

Not to mention I am a poor college freshman (in two days, look below!)

My Prism's gotta last me the next two years of high school, then maybe I'll upgrade to a laptop or an OS 5(maybe 6!) Palm-powered handheld.
