-- Prism/Minstrel inside Rhino 2000 case (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9758)

Can anybody comment on how a Prism with a Minstrel S attached fits inside a Rhinoskin 2000 case? I can't tell from pictures if the case is long enough to accomodate the attached Minstrel S.

Thanks
MS

Arrow plastic front-only cover is main problem

I think a big problem with Prism is the plastic cover that comes with it does not snap on the back. This feature which exists with the Deluxe/Platinum is what most Visor cases use to attach the Visor to the case. Even if you could attach the cover, you couldn't do it with the Minstrel in place. You'd have to rig something with velcro, but that doesn't sound too secure (especially with the non-lineal topology affecting a Visor posterior with Minstrel attached.)

i have neither a prism nor the minstrel, but i do have the r2k and i think you'd be fine... by the way, i don't use the plastic cover to attach my visor to the r2k... it comes with four elastic straps for the purpose that do very nicely. i think that would be the best way to go.

but the review pictures show and the text says...

The VC review of the 2000 describes slipping the plastic cover under the straps, in both pictures and words. It looks like if you used those straps by themselves it would obscure some usable portion of the visor. Am I wrong?

Talking

the vc review suggests it, but it isn't necessary. it just barely obscures the corners of the screen, but not in a terrible way (for me.) plus since it's elastic you can quite easily move things around. and easily remove the visor, since the case is a little bulky anyway. like i said, i don't have the prism, but i would imagine it's larger form factor to be a benefit in this situation, making the elastic pull out futher to the ends of the corners-- that's unclear, i know, but i can't think of a better way to put it...
