Does the Prism feel much heavier and bulkier than the Deluxe?

Just wondering, because I heard it was *bigger* than the Deluxe, which seems like a strange way to evolve your product line in the PDA market.

I know why it *would* be bigger (battery mainlhy) but can people who've actually used one comment on how it feels? Does it bug you that it's bigger?

Thanks,

Mark Bidwell

Thumbs up

It does feel bigger and heavier BUT it feels like such a solid well-made device compared to the Visor that I can live with both the bigger and heavier. It actually seems to "sit" better in my palm (no pun intended).

Prism Feel

I agree with Kalahari - it sits better in the hand. The bottom of the Prism has a curve at the base all across near the contacts. This curve actually helps you hold the unit in your left palm and keeps it from sliding up into the palm further. The curve is created by a slight indentation and then a upturn and peaks at the bottom screw location, which I believe is the same location on a Visor.

It's heavier but not painfully so. I find that I'm please with the power button on the right. It's easier to get to.

I'm awaiting my bi-fold case to see how it's going to attach to the Prism - there is a slot where the cover fits rather than being fit into the top of the springboard cover. Based upon this slot, I'd bet that there will be less problems with the springboard cover and case cover cracking due to the repetitive fitting of the Visor into a Handspring case.

This form factor is easier to hold and deal with than my Palm Vx and I've been a Palm user since the first Pilot's. I believe that Jeff H. has done a good job of tactile feel with these units.

Exclamation it's a tighter fit inside a Rhodiana case...but workable

just got my Visor Prism today...it seems heavier than my VDX and definitely a tighter fit in my Rhodiana case...it's easier if you take the stylus out first before slipping the unit into the case. Feels heavier on the hip too...still, it's a nice unit....awesome pics using fireviewer though as someone else mentioned, I get a "fatal error" when hotsyncing new pics in but it works fine after I reset.
