My Prism has started buzzing.. Everything works all my modules screen is fine battery seems fine. The only thing is when it is on I have noticed it making a small buzzz/hmmm sound. Any one else have this strange buzzzing???

Buzzz
I believe this is "normal" for the Prism (never noticed with my previous Deluxe), and even think I stumbled across a series of responses regarding this issue somewhere else on this site. A search might find this for you.
It may have to do with the power supply required to make that screen so bright.
I typically can't hear mine unless there is very little ambient noise, so unless it's loud enough to scare small pets away I wouldn't worry about it:-)
Found the refernce to the buzzing being normal in FAQ:

Kind of anticlimatic, as there isn't much detail:-(
Are you sure you don't have that "Massager" springboard installed?
It may be the fluorescent tube starting to go out. If it is still under warranty, you may want to get it taken care of. I don't believe that it is a user-replaceable part. Does the pitch or volume change as you adjust the brightness?

I don't know about the Prism making that noise, I would have to check on my Brother's...but on my Deluxe, it makes that sound when the Backlight is on (which is drastically different technology than the prism)...very faint, and you can only hear it if you try, or if it is a completely silent room.

I have also recently noticed a very faint buzzing. It is only noticeable at night when everyone else is asleep and I am reading in the dark. Given Estone's post, it seems that I never noticed before because there was always enough noise to drown out the sound. That is reassuring!
The circuits for electroluminescent backlights (vdx, neo, edge, etc.) and the flourescent backlights (vpr) are actually similar. Both involve a an inverter and a step-up transformer. The resulting output is a rather high-voltage (hundreds of volts) sine wave. The frequency of the sine wave can be in the low kiloHertz (at least the one I played with was). I think what you end up hearing is actually this frequency in the step-up transformer.
I wouldn't worry about the buzzing unless it bothers you.
One month and still buzzzing along
Yup it is still working.
It is getting louder though. I went to Best Buy and checked out the Demo Prism they had and the beat up Demo was nice and quiet. Then I showed the Sales kid mine and he went WOW! You should get that replaced. HAHA I can't it is out of warranty.. But just wanted to let you all know it is still working..
I'll let you all know if it die's.
