Cool Home-made Visor Edge Belt Case

Hey gang! One case I really liked when I had my VDX was the HS belt clip case. It was just enough to hold the Visor securely without being bulky. Well, I've just created the same thing (actually better) for my Edge, using the HS aluminum case! I bought the aluminum case and cut off the front cover at the hinges with an x-acto knife. Then I bought one of those universal belt clips from Best Buy and filed down the top three center bumps on the case where the clip would be stuck (again, with an x-acto). Then I stuck the clip and let it cure. Wala! The "rails" of the aluminum case goes toward the bottom. The Edges screen faces AWAY from your belt, which is why I use this solution with the flip cover attached. Also, on the rail of the case, there are three little bumps on each side that let the Edge click into place. I found that it was hard to get the Edge out with these there, and it was more than secure without them so I filed those down as well. Attached are some photos I took (I couldn't take one with the Visor in the case because I was using my E2.

Nice. That's a belt clip I might actually be able to stomach having on my belt. Can you report on how well it holds up under use (specifically the adhesive)?. Looks as though it sits rather close to your body, and might break the connection bewt. belt clip and case.

Wow.. looks real nice. But I have the same fear as dietrichbohn, adhesive does tend to "snap" loose when bent, especially if it's on a belt and when you're running or somebody bumps into you.

You could put a rivit from the inside out through the clip as long as it is pretty flush inside and doesn't interfere with the sliding in and out.

Thumbs up No problems yet

Actually, I replaced the clip on my old Handspring belt clip case with one of the after market adhesive ones. Once it cures, that thing is as strong as cement! When you stick it on, they recommend letting it be for 72 hours. As far as I can tell, it is a perminate fixture. Also, you can buy a swivel clip if you want, but I wanted the slimmest profile I could get. Works great! Maybe I should send the photos to Handspring!
