-- Do bears live in the woods? Does the glass on the Visor crack by itself? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9769)
I woke up to one of the most unpleasing thing one could ever see in his life...
Let me recap the story...
Last night (this morning?) at 3AM, I decided it was time for me to go to bed... so, as usual, I set my one-month-old Visor Deluxeon my desk, with its rigid cover on... To my utter disgust, when I came to, at about 11AM, I found my visor where I had left it, but with a beautiful one inch crack running through the glass around the find button.
After having scraped my jaw off the floor, and having seen dollar signs flashing in my mind, I resolved to drop by the store where I bought it to see what they could do about it... Obviously, even though I have a 3 year guarantee on it, cracked glass isn't covered... The rep did admit, though, that I wasn't the first to report such a problem... So they gave me the Handspring phone number to call, and all those guys could tell me was that they'd never heard of such an incident...
By reading another cracked-glass post, i've learnt that i'm not the first one to have this happen and I'd like to know how many innocent people had this happen to them...
Unfortunately I find it unacceptable that the end user should pay for a manufaturing defect. What I'd like to know is how and if some of you managed to get a replacement.
One Definitely Unhappy Customer...

Yes...
Mine did something similair, I think it was because I had it outside with me for a while and it was freezing, then I went into my house which was steaming hot.
If you call Handspring support and tell them, and tell them its less than a month old, they will prolly RMA you a new unit, thats what they did for me.
Unfortunately...
I'd like to know what you told them to get an RMA...
Because they're not cooperating...
My visor is actually 1 month and 3 days old to be exact...
Thanks!

PS: Actually, it wasn't even THAT cold the day it broke... it had been way cooler before, and it didn't break...
and my office, is, after all, at room temperature... not hot, not cold...
I called and told them the truth, my screen was cracked.
I said I picked it up this morning and looked at the screen and there was a slight crack with a dark blotch underneath.
She asked how old it was, and I said "A little less than a month". I think theres something special about being less than a month old.
They told me they would RMA me out a new one ASAP.

I disagree. They were not set up with the capability to charge you in the past. They may not have let you know that.
I broke mine back then. If you return within 30 days and you broke the screen you get your refund back less the screen damage. Glass does not break itself. It broke while in your possession. Do you sleepwalk? *Yawn*
