Talking Faster loads with PiDirect Updater 1.5

With the latest Beta version of PiDirect from Updater v1.5, apps now take only 1 second to load where they used to take 3 seconds to load under updater v1.4

Hmm.... Think maybe they've been doing some reading?? When did it come out?

I just loaded the 1.5 updater and the loading of MyBible went from 25 seconds to 7 seconds.

Great job PI!

Actually, it came out today. Not only is it faster, but rumor is they have increased the number of DB's that can exist from 10 to 20.

Excellent...

To me, everything is a rumor until I see it for myself.

Thanks for letting us know. I thought I had read that, but I have not been able to update my MemPlug yet and had no way of knowing for sure.

Great! Please keep posting your progress with the beta testing. I may jump in when I can risk down-time.

Does anyone alternate between using the Memplug/Smartmedia and a Springboard Flash Memory Module (8 MB or 16 MB)? I'm not having much success with this and Handspring suspects it to be 3rd party software (e.g. PI products) causing the trouble. They even suggest hotsyncing with NO springboards installed.

Let's just say, I am constantly reminded of what that great man of wisdom... Unknown, said.

Actually, I just did not want to be saying things that I had not validated. I preferred to say it was rumored. All the flames would have been terrible if I had been wrong, and my fire retardent suit is being dry cleaned.

I recently upgraded to the v1.5 release. I attempted to use PiDirect
and when I try to load a program (WordSmith), I receive this error:

Fatal Alert
MemoryMgr.c, Line:4450
Invalid chunk ptr

Can anyone help me on this? This also happened with the v1.4, so I
know it's not a 1.5 issue.

Also, has anyone noticed, that after updating to v1.5, their PiDirect
still says BETA 3?

Thanks.
