CompUSA BlowOUT
Guys go to this link
http://www.compusa.com/products/pro...p;srch_type=mfg
CompUSA is giving out many refurbed items and open box items for the cheapest prices Ive ever seen for any Visors and Visor accesories.
I got an EyeModule2 for 40 bucks!!!!!! WOO HOO
.
They had more stuff but people are buying lotsa stuff fast. If ya hurry you could grab a few things.
Enjoy.

Yoyo,
As soon as I saw this, I went and placed an order. That was Sunday, I think. Anyway, my order has been "processing" since then. It was approved right away. About how long did it take for yours to ship? For that matter, has it shipped yet? Seems a bit long on the processing.
<C>
Dont know
I acually havent recieved my Eyemodule2 yet. Where can you check the status of your order anyways? I ordered it Friday so I hope to get it atleast Thursday or before that. I assume that the processing will be slow too because the items are open boxed, meaning that they are extra items they have left that might have been used and refurbished. Usually items like that have a bit longer shipping. But Im sure its worth the wait, an eyemodule2 for just 40 bucks! No where else have I heard of such a price for a module like that.
Good luck!
Jonathan

It isn't a module, but it isn't much bigger at all... I got a SiPix StyleCam Blink at CompUSA for $39.95. It's just too funny. 24-bit color, 640x480 res, 8MB of RAM, USB cable, a bunch of computer software for processing the images and video (!), and it uses a single AAA battery.
It makes my old Kodak Disc camera look immense.

Well, the Eyemodule2's were long gone, but I did get a spare charging cradle for my Prism for $10 and a penny shipping. Now I can have one at the office as well as at home.
After I lost my Prism and then got a replacement, I went looking replacement SB's at Staples. I got my MemPlug from them for $35. They still had them for the same price.
I asked the sales guy if anymore of the Visor products had been reduced. There was a sealed EyeModule2 in the case for $50! I took it and ran! Woo-hoo!

Sorry
Im sorry to hear that happened to you. I got my Eyemodule2 a couple of days ago and it works great.

Their baaaaaaack!
OK, for any of you that missed your chance at the Blow-out the first time around (like me, I waited too long and missed the $40 eyemodule2), well, you now have a second chance.
I checked the CompUSA website a few days ago and got a message that they were re-stocking. On a hunch I checked yesterday and yes, many of the popular items that went quickly the first time around were back.
eyemodule2 SB $40
33.6 kbps modem SB $20
travel charger $ 5
USB hot/sync CABLE $5
Visor PRISM slim lelather case $ 2 (!)
and many more. I am just sorry that I placed an order earlier in the week for some other items. Now I have to pay the $5 shipping again! <grin>
I was sure I saw an 8MB Flash memory SB for $20 yesterday, but it is gone now. They only have the Hagiwara 16MB module for $120.
Also, I ordered a refurb visor NEO to complement my PRISM, $80, even cheaper than their refurb Visor Deluxe! I will use the NEO outside in daylight and other field usage when I may not want to take my Prism. It should look pretty good in the Active Armor rubber case I think I will order now!
Hey, CompUSA! How 'bout a Visorphone for $25.00 ?

The eyemodule2 is great and Im glad that other people have the chance to get one now for this cheap. Oh BTW to Prismer, VisorPhone is free with service activation at Handspring website
. Just thought Id let you know. Cya.

Yes, I know that....
...Visorphone is free on the Handspring website, with activation. But I don't want to have to rely on the Visorphone as my only phone after hearing about some of the problems, not to mention how exposed it is when in the Visor.
Ideally, I will get GSM service when my local TDMA provider switches over this fall to GSM. Since I will start a new contract, I will get a full-featured phone for free or very low $$$$$, then if I buy the Visorphone cheap (refurb?) I can use the SIM card from my cell phone in it, and still have the cell phone as a backup. I am assuming if the Visorphone gets lost, stolen, or just plain destroyed (with the SIM inside), it will be easier and less costly to get a new SIM card from my service provider for my existing phone.
I also like the Kensington device (what is it called?) that turns your Visorphone into a standalone (albeit, limited feature) cellphone. To me that is a great way to not miss calls when you have you Visor loaded with a different Springboard. Now THAT is "kewl"!

Blow-out UPDATE: Friday Aug, 23 (Late)
They were back, now they're gone again! Eyemodule2 for $40 that is. Glad I got my order in, and confirmed by e-mail!
Other sold out items include the $5 Visor Edge USB cable (like I want one of those!) and the Visor Stylus 5-pack for $3 (wait a minute, the item name says 5-pack, but the photo and text below describe a 3-pack of black tipped styli. There is a 5-pack product, but that is the jelly colored sticks to match VDX models. Sombody might be getting burned on this one! Either those expecting the black-tipped styli might be getting jelly-colored ones, or vice versa! Well, what do you want for $3?
I did get my first order today and here is what I thought:
Foliomodule case: nice catch-all for Visor stuff for $9.99!
Meshmodule case: Supposed to fit Prism too, but kind of tight, difficult to get in and out. I'll keep it for when I get a Pro! Not bad for $5 and makes a good case for Magellen GPS companion and two other standard sized springboards.
Handspring Sport Case: Again, not bad for $5. I did not like it at first, but it is growing on me. Belt loop not what I expected, it is a thin adjustable nylong strap with one of those black plastic clip buckles you see on backpacks, etc.
Spare USB HotSync/Charger cradle for Prism: for $10, and mine did come with the wall-wart AC supply.
Handspring Stylus Pen: Well, I am glad I did not pay the $15 Handspring was charging for these! The pop-off stylus tip which covers the ball-point is small and easy to lose. The steel shaft in between is only a tube, not nearly as sturdy s the machined rod that the standard stylus is made from (well, I guess they had to put the ink somewhere!) But the worst part is the top/head, where you pull it out of the stylus keeper. It is plastic and screws over/onto a plastic reset pin which is crimped (!) onto the non-business end of the pen barrel. I t feels like it is going to snap off every time I use it. if the reset pin and external thread had been machined steel, like on the Pilot Chameleon Pen Stylus, this would not be a problem. However, I do like that it does not attempt to provide a pocket clip like the Pilot stylus has, which seems to snag on everything, chancing breakage or pulling the top of the pen (Pilot's pen tip is at the other end. Unscrew its stylus point and you have a steel reset pin!) The Pilot stylus also uses a spring loaded stylus tip, said to be less harmful to the screen because it acts like a shock absorber.
I did NOT get my $10 Tiger Woods golf game module, but the invoice has it coded differently than the rest, so I am hoping it is being sent in a separate package for some reason. It should not be on backorder, since the website still shows them in stock.
Oh, yeah, the Smart Media MemPlug ($40) and the Targus Stow-away keyboards ($60) are also sold-out, but they were not that great a deal. I better get back to my local Best Buy where I saw the Stowaways for the same price. (But I am still thinking about the Adesso serial keyboard or the IR wireless keyboard. ) I already got my MemPlug at the local CompUSA store on clearance for $40.00!
How did the rest of you do?

Well, the charging cradle arrived yesterday, minus the charging transformer. Time to beat up on CompUSA...
I'm STILL making a killing on modules! At my local CompUSA I check every now and then to see if they have any close-out Springboards. Made out with 2 Xircom 56k modems for guess how much?
$5.00 each! I love it!
They salesman also told me he has 3 ThinModems. He didn't give me a price on them but I'm sure it will be a steal. If you want one let me know before they go on Ebay.

My local CompUSA (in St. Louis) only had MemPlugs left, both SM (which I already had) and CF, and the price was only down to $39.95! Hmmm, should I get a CF Memplug even though I do not currently use CF for eny devices? I could see the benefit of getting an SD/MMC memplug, since Palm software is now being sold on SD cards. However, what would be the benefit to me of having the CF Memplug, since I already have and usd the SM Memplug?
Since you said you check back with CompUSA, I assume that means that they are still getting shipments of Visor accessories, or are these just items which you missed the previous visits?
It would surprise me that they are getting new shipments of "clearance" merchandise, but who knows!

Hey swendor,
Are you willing to sell the Xircom modems for $15? And how much are you willing to sell the Thinmodems if you have them?
Thanks.

Ideally, you will get the media format you will be using on your next PDA (or other gadget)- but none of us is ever quite sure of what that will be!
...However, my Clie uses Memory Stick. Sigh!
The logic of buying an alternative MemPlug is so that your Visor CAN be compatible with the format of a future gadget that might use CF.
