-- palm desktop upgradeable??? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13127)

I like to use palm desktop rather than Outlook. However, the month view appears very basic - just text. Does anyone know of an upgrade or program for Palm desktop which will better display and differentiate between appointments? For example, band together appointments which repeat daily so that at-a-glance it is obvious that the appointment is all week? Even if they could be colour coded that would help.

PS I tried using the PIM Sidekick99 which I like the desktop view of very much but it's truesync overode my hotsync and messed up my visor

Question

Which version are you using? You can use 4.0 with a workaround.

Question

I have version 3.0.1. Where can I get version4 and what is the workround for it?

Cool Palm Desktop Upgrade

You can get DeskTop 4.o at Visor Village or any number o f other sites. The problem is that it still does not have USB support. So, you have to install the Handspring version of Hotsync over the version that comes with Desktop. Here's how to make it work (and it does, I just did it this morning!).

(Below assumes you've already downloaded Desktop 4.0, extracted it somewhere, and are ready to go...)

1. Perform a full sync.
2. Uninstall Desktop 3.1
3. Run setup routine for 4.0
4. Dig out the cd that came with your Visor that has the installation software on it.
5. Run a custom setup and ONLY install Hotsync.
6. Put the 'ol Visor in it's cozy cradle and sync up.

Bingo!
