Hey..I am just wondering if anyone knows when we are going to be able to buy the Visor from some place other than Handspring..I decided to wait to order it, cuz I didn't want to wait that long..and i tried calling on the phone...i got sick of it after an hour...anyways...anyone know when i can buy it in stores or over the internet??

handsprings are ONLY available from handspring and you can purchase one from there website at www.handspring.com or the phone. i hope this helps ya.

Sorry I should have been more clear...I understand that they are only for sale at Handspring.com, But, I have heard/read that starting in the new year they will become mass-distributed, I was just wondering if anyone had any solid dates/information at all about when it becomes mass-market.

You've got to be kidding. They can barely keep up with the web & phone orders.

I don't understand people like you. You are going to have to wait longer if you wait for them to come out in stores and online stores. Orders are shipping much faster now. I have heard of many shipping in 2-3 weeks. I ordered twice from Handspring. My first order came in 4 weeks one day, and my second came in 2 weeks!

just order one...

Well that is one side of the spectrum...but i was talking about the better one..i heard that starting in the new year they would be all over..If that is true then in 2 days i could go down to my local best buy and pick one up and save myself 2 weeks..i was just trying to see if anyone could add some substance to that rumor.

I talked directly with Handspring in early December about ordering a Visor and some technical questions (wasn't sure if I was going to buy a Visor versus Palm V). I asked the woman at Visor if they planned on going to an indirect channel (stores). She told me they would be selling through stores around the February time frame.

BTW... I ordered my Visor via the web on December 8th and received it on December 23rd... (Only 15 days). I was not expecting it until early next year...

Yet another shipping problem with Handspring is that they have sometimes been shipping out two Visors to customers who only ordered one.

I'm sending my second OVDx back, but there are a number of customers selling their second Visors at Ebay, most saying they never opened the box.

You need to be careful with doing anything on Ebay, but if you want a Visor without the 2-6 week lead time, you might want to check there.
