-- HELP NEEDED: TrueSynch Plus (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=3077)
I recently intalled TrueSynch Plus to try to synch my Yahoo! calendar with my new VDX. When I select TrueSynch Plus from my Start menu, however, I get two error messages -- first, 'Error Starting Program: the TSCORE.DLL file is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL:6438.' Whatever that means...
When I click 'ok', I see another message that says that 'A device attached to the system is not functioning'. I have no idea what the problem is...
I got TrueSync Plus from Excite's calendar service a few months ago and have had NO problems (where's some wood) on a win98 machine.
I don't use it to sync with my GVdx......just to the Palm desktop. I hit it every coupla daze just to keep things current.
My advice......uninstall whatcha got and go yank it down from somewhere else.....kinda the clean slate approach.
By the way, the Excite service is SOOOOO much better (more intuitive, more stuff) than Yahoo!

Did you contact StarFish support? I've contacted them a few times and they've always responded withing a few hours.

I totally agree with editboxer re: excite truesync conduit being much much ...... much better than yahoo. it works in conjunction with yahoo, perfectly..... I also suggest you try Anyday.com, this online calendar is specifically built for palm handhelds. if you are as paranoid as i am regarding losing data and stuff..... i backup my visor with the backup module, sync with laptop, sync with desktop, sync with yahoo, excite, outlook..... and with anyday.com.
did i say i was paranoid about losing my data?

I ended up bypassing True Synch altogether -- I exported my Yahoo! calendar into a data file, which I then imported into the Palm Desktop calendar and then synched to my VDX. I more or less got the data I needed into the Visor, but two problems, however:
1. some of my appointments shifted an hour ahead. (I'll have to double-check, but I'm pretty sure the shift occurred in the export from Yahoo! rather than in the import to Palm Desktop or in the synch with Visor).
2. items originally scheduled in Yahoo! as annually recurring appointments ended up importing into my VDX as individual appointments repeating through the year 2030 -- so any changes (e.g. adding a list of gift ideas, previous gifts etc.) would have to be entered into each entry individually. Unacceptable. Again, I think the corruption probably occurred in the original Yahoo! export.
