Question

I'm needing more storage for my visor, and was debating on purchasing the 8Meg module. But then I saw the minijam and its ability to use the storage for non MP3's as well.

Anyone know how much the storage media costs? Also, any rumors about a possible smart card reader? I have several megs of smart cards that I share between my camera and RIO, so that would be a more cost effective route.

Thanks for the info.

quick check on www.cnet.com shows MMC's selling for: 32MB approx. $70 and 16MB approx. $39

prices might change and the 64MB MMC was higher....

Thanks,

I was trying to search on Pricewatch and Killerapp (Cnet), but multimedia card kept giving a list of sound cards and video cards.

Now...are we sure that the mp3 player will use the _mmc_cards_ for storage, or that it _contains_ storage (in the form of flash RAM, to hold its own programming with extra room to spare)? This aside from the actual mp3 files.

It makes much more sense to me, considering that the 6-pack has Flash storage as well, that the storage Innogear refers to as being available for other files is a specific amount of imbedded flash RAM.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Thanks,

-Doug

A quick look at the minijam FAQ
www.innogear.com/faq.htm www.innogear.com/mj.htm

Gives the info and links to www.sandisk.com for info on the MMC cards, but does not offer pricing.

2 mmmc slots will be in the player for a total of 64 megs (2x32MB cards) and the soon 128 megs when the 64MB cards are available.
