Hi, I have YadaYada service, and also have experienced a lack of knowledge by their support staff. I don't feel like asking them this question as I feel I might not get an accurate answer, so I pose this question to you:

I can't seem to get PQA's to run on my Prism with YY/ Minstrel service. Are PQA's supported? If so, how do you install, configure, and launch?

I really appreciate all your help. I received NO documentation from YY, though I would still recommend them over Omnisky. I like the discount upfront, and that they do support VDX users. YadaYada, which means "Whenever and wherever," are the first two words of the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Vedic text from India, and a small portion of one of the longest epic poems, the Mahabharat, dating to 2500 B.C. Pretty cool!

Yes, PQA's do run on the Prism. I am using them with my YadaYada service.

The best information I have found for getting it to work is at this site.

I carefully followed the directions you specified, and was able to get PQA's to work on my Prism with Yadyada (thanks). However ever since I installed the Palm VII libraries, the Yada mail application gives me Fatal exceptions followed by soft resets whenever I try to retrieve email.

The only way to restore Yada mail functionality to my Prism was to do a hard reset and restore from Backup Buddy.

Can you be of any further assistance?

Have you tried to just re-install the YadaYada software?

I am not having this problem, because I use MultiMail instead of YadaYada's mail.

I had trouble with them too. I tried the site listed above, but couldn't make it work.

Then I called YY and spoke to Darren. He knew about the URL and he had gone through the process. He talked me through a lot of small adjustments to my settings and then we broached the PQA thing.

It took 8 minutes and everything has been fine since then.

So try calling their service desk and ask for Darren if you're still having problems. He was very helpful and he knew his stuff.

Note to Visor Deluxe owners : I wouldn't even attempt this.

I read the above link and thought "Hey, I should try that on my Visor!"
What I should have said was "Hey, that could hurt!"

Basicly, all the libaries will install fine, or at least seem to. When you install a PQA, it will pop up in you launcher just as they should.

However, try to run them and you'll get a rude surprise. They'll crash you Visor, requireing a soft restart.

However, the libaries show promise. I only tried one PQA (abcnews), so maybe others will work.

Maybe I'm reaching..

Possible Conflict?

Have you have any problem using the ETrade or Fidelity quicksnaps after installing the PQA libraries? Last night for the first time I tried to get stock quotes from both of those quicksnaps; and just when I seemed to be receiving the requested quotes, my Prism would end up getting a Fatal Exception. Would you please try the above on your device and let me know if you have the same problem?

I'm not sure if the problem is related to the PQA libraries since I never tried to get a stock quote before installing the libraries, but I've got to start somewhere.

Let me know how you make out.
