Exclamation

Hmm....do I want the red one, or the silver one? Decisions..decisions.....

By the way, according to the article, the Edge will be available from Handspring on Monday. No waiting.

Two of the pictures appear to have a very light colored LCD background. I wonder if the screens will be better than the current crop? I certainly hope so for $400!

To be red, or to be silver. That is my question as well. Silver is a bit more "executive" looking, but red is, well...red.

Mine will be in my wallet. For the rumoured $400, I will settle for no less than color and not at the dismal 160x160.

You may get a color screen in this form factor 'soon' (i.e. within a few weeks, the m505 should be announced, with a color version of the edge likely not too far behind), but you won't get more that 160x160 for some time (whenever a device with PalmOS 5.0 comes out -- maybe not until next year).

Rob, how much do you think this color m505 will cost? I have heard from PalmStation that the color m505 price is in the $600's.

If you think about it, Handspring is not stupid. They have undoubtly forcast the price of their competition...the mono m505 and the color m505. Logically, monochrome m505 will be around the same price range as the mono Edge.

There's speculation that the new color version will be call the VisorTwist, which incorporate the supertwist technology. See: http://www.zdwebopedia.com/Display_...supertwist.html

Thanks to emeyer for the supertwist info.

Well, according to the CNET article at http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1006-20....html?tag=cd_mh, the monochrome palm m500 will be priced at $400, and the color palm m505 will be around $450. I personally can't believe that Palm would only mark up the color version $50 over the mono version. I would expect at least a $100 difference. We shouldn't have to wait too long to find out, though.
