-- Palm V and Visor simultaneous? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=84)
Does anybody has an idea, if it is possible to use an Palm V and an Visor simultaneous? Just like two mobiles, one slim and light to take it in the pocket, the other one more powerful for GPS and so on...
The major problem could be the desktop software. I don't know if they are compatible. I hope, the new Visor will work with the Mac desktop-software!?
Who knows more?
Think different
Tom
Department of Redundancy Department, can I help you? (That's a joke.) :-)
Why would you want to have to trouble with two? The difference in weight is fairly negligible, thought the difference in thickness is noticeable but not bothersome. Get a Visor Deluxe with the 8MB RAM and the option of a compact GPS later.
As far as one being "more powerful", I'm not sure what you mean. They're both running PalmOS 3.1 (although I suppose the V could run 3.3 but that doesn't necessarily imply more power). They can both do the same things, except one has more memory for less price.
ASAIK, the Visor ships with Mac-sync software, but I don't know for sure if you could use it to sync with a Palm V (seems like you should be able to...).

I remember hearing a lot of people saying that the extra bulk of a Palm III isn't so bothersome that you need a Palm V, but when you actually hold the two side by side it really seems to make a difference. I guess we'll have to see how much of a size difference there is when we actually see them side to side (and not judging by their published dimensions).
