I haven't really researched this, but now you can get unlimited access on your Palm VII for $45 a month. I'm sure a wireless springboard will come eventually. But here's my question. Is the P7's access limited? With the Sprint PCS phones that have the "wireless web", you can only go to a few sites...I just want to know if you're as limited with the P7.

P.S. Does the P7 show pics when using the wireless or is it all text?

There are Palm VII apps that allow you to go to any website. The problem is that viewing a full web page is near impossible on the Palm's small screen. The PQA applications that are published are linked to optimized, trimmed-down web sites meant to be viewed on the Palm's screen via the Web Clipping application.

Am actually looking to buy a Palm VII because of its wireless capability. Need to access stock quotes on the road.

Has there been any announcements of any springboard module that will essentially provide the same functionality of the Palm VII? I know there's a modem module available but I need a wireless solution.

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

BaseMan suggests that "that viewing a full web page is near impossible on the Palm's small screen." This is the same line of reasoning that claims that you can't read books on a Visor. Yes. You can't see the whole page on the Visor's screen at one time, but that is not the point. As most users of iSiloWeb will attest, you can get a very useable vertically scollable web page.

I've downloaded some reference web sites to two links deep; and, with the help of Find, the web site's built-in links and the addition of my own bookmarks I could easily navigate the site (even when the file is close to a MB in size). Obviously, this lends itself to sites that don't update too frequently. For working with sites that update several times a day, I can see the value of the Palm VII's PQAs.

BTW, the problem with iSiloWeb on the Palm VII is that you can get some pretty big iSilo files, and these are not well suited to the Palm VII's puny memory and low-bandwidth wireless modem. The VDX has no problems here - - well other than its complete lack of a wireless modem.

Re: Springboard wireless modules - - I believe that Xircom has at least one product that is due "Q2 2000" . . . see http://www.visorcentral.com/springboardindex.php3
