-- Visor Deluxe Case (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=8840)
I know it's been discussed here previously, and I read through the past threads but....
What I need is the VDlx and a pad in a nice case. When I'm at a meeting I need to jot things down quicker than I can graffiti them.
Looked at the pictures of:
Palm Pilot Case
ML2001200 from Fossil and the
Bi-fold Leather Case From Hanspring.
I know there is a $20 price difference, but I want something that is secure and preferably without velcro. I don't understand what the HS bi-fold means when they say
"sewn-in attachment device"
I also looked at the Covey stuff, and the Sumdex page.
As always, any help is appreciated.
Sewn-in attachment device
The sewn-in attachment device Handspring refers to is actually a "clip" cover - identical to the one you received when you purchased your Visor - sewn into a case. This is awful nice because you (1) don't need to use velcro - a hangup of mine - and (2) get an exceedingly secure connection between the unit and the case. You literally snap the Visor into the case. If you're nuts about the protection of your screen, you can flip the Visor over and have the case facing (and therefore protecting) the screen when you're not using the Visor.
On the downside, you don't get to run any but flush-mounted Springboards while your Visor is snapped into place. MiniJam, Geode (if it ever is released), Eyemodule, some of the modems -- all impossible to use if you choose to keep your Visor in the case.
I had a slim Handspring Visor case, but I moved to a RhinoSkin 2000 because I wanted storage for my Stowaway, Eyemodule, backup module, credit cards/cash, batteries, etc. It's a lot bigger, but you really can't get much smaller...
Another alternative if price isn't an issue is one of the Palm cases from Franklin. I recently purchased one for my Mother in Law after she purchased a Visor because she still wanted to carry a notepad as well as retaining the month-at-a-glance and year at a glance fetures of her Franklin Planner. It works very well for her, and gives her everything she needs while on the road for buisness and answering her cell phone while my Father in Law is driving the rig.
I believe the case was around $65.

adfleisher: Do you have a link or a model # for the case you mentioned? Is Franklin the same as Franklin Covey?
morris: Thanks for the info...
