-- Problem with Prism left on its cradle overnight? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9712)

Question

I was wondering if there was any problem leaving the Prism recharging overnight. I was concerned about the life of the lithium batteries. I have a feeling that the batteries could lose some life if it stays more time that it is needed on the cradle.

I hope I'm wrong because I usually leave it overnight charging.

If I remember correctly the reason the lithium battery is preferred is because it doesn't develop a "memory" the way the nicads did.

I have left my Prism in the cradle overnight on several occasions (actually, I called in sick yesterday, and my Prism spent the better part of 36 hours in the cradle) with no ill effects in battery life.

Lithium-ion batteries require a smart charger that shuts off the charge current when the battery is charged up. So leaving the Prism on the charger forever will have no ill effects on the battery.
