Question

Why Handspring does not think about putting a recharging circuit into their PDAs? Recharging circuit is very small and very easy to make.

MP3 and GPS are power consuming SB modules and both of them happen to be my favourite mudules. Most of them require extra battery that was why they are almost all so huge.

I want to expand my PDA toys without a drag having extra batteries for power-sucking modules. Rechargable battery inside VDx for regular recharging basis would encourage SB modules to use power from VDx and they will be much smaller.

Just simple recharging circuit and a small switch to select alkaline or Ni-HM (two for $7). All VDx users would be in rechargable heaven.

Handspring originally claimed the lack of a rechargeable battery was due to cost... they wanted to keep the Visor as low priced as possible. I think we'll see all future models released with rechargeables.

For Visor, Deluxe, and Platinum owners, there's the FullCharge and ICU Power Accessory Kit

I bought some AAA NiMh batteries and a small ($5) charger from Radio Shack. They last longer per charge than set of Alkalines and work well. Not as convenient as the fullcharge module but....
