- Springboard Modules (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/forumdisplay.php?forumid=10)
-- Now that's more like it! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13656)

This is the kind of CF adapter we've been asking and waiting for! True Springboard Plug-and-Play(drivers in onboard flash), flush and form-fitting(apparently), and swapping of CF cards w/o removing the module. It hasn't shown up on Palmgear yet (maybe when PalmGear "opens" for business Monday morning). If I didn't already have a MemPlug, I'd (probably) jump at this, but the MemPlug still seems to have the superior suite of software included, especially if you consider the modified CSpotRun that allows you to read DOC files directly from the SmartMedia card.
Thank you, James, for the news!

Even though I've still not bought one, I'm still probably doing the MemPlug. It seems that SmartMedia uses less current and is quite a bit cheaper. Also as you say the software suite seems to be better.

What about the already to market CF adapters (Matchbookdrive, Innopocket) ? Is there any advantage to them now? Can their software be updated to provide the same funtionality as the new board?
Thanks for your thoughts.

I love my Memplug. The product works and it works well. I have 4 megs of games, 5 megs of docs, 10 megs of pictures, a few short movies, my backup and 39 megs of free space. The suite of software is excellent and they did not copy their FAQ's directly from a competitor.
Good job Memplug.

Like this Module
I like this new module. It is just what I am lookin for. The most important factor for me is that it doesn't stick out. I probably would have leaned towards the MemPlug if A. It was actually available (its back-ordered at PalmGear) and B. It did not have that paper thin card sticking out of the top.

But I am shocked by their way of doing business and developing solution for visor users.
Since I visit their FAQ session,

And I found that they just copying our Memplug's FAQ page.

From word to word, even my spelling mistake maybe :<
I have just sent an warning email to them, and hope that they won't simply copy all our applications and treat as theirs.

I _thought_ about snipping off the offending bit so I could close my Slipper case. Is there any electrical reason not to? I'm not worried about extracting the card (I have my Leatherman micra tweezers!)

Snip... Snip...
There's no substitute for experimentation. A quick snip with the scissors and now the little Smartmedia card no longer sticks out the top. It looks like it's all plastic up there and PiBackup is cranking away with no trouble.
There also seems to be just enough exposed in the cutaway part of the memplug to be able to pull it out without even resorting to the Leatherman micra tweezers!

It may sound strange to "promote" one's competition, but I have to say that the MemPlug is a great product developed by good people who didn't have to steal Kopsis' or anyone else's intellectual property to do it! I'm not so sure about these NXiST folks.
Copy Cat
Wow, the NxDrive seems to just copy FAQ from MemPlug!? It means that NxDrive may not even have their own software or solution right now. I won't buy NxDrive anyway....!!!
Q-Won
Could just be an April Fools joke! Their pix look wierd..
