How does the GPS module work? Do we need to pay a monthly fee for GPS or do we just pay for the module and it's always on?

There should be no fees for receiving a GPS signal. It's like radio or TV transmissions; they are out there, you just need the receiver. I have only seen a GPS unit for a Palm and it seemed to be very sensitive. I don't know about how the Visor unit operates (battery drain, auxillary power, etc.)since I am content to keep my Garmin III Plus in service.

Happy navigating.

If you search this forum for Handy GPS review, you will find a review I wrote on the unit.

Some users have complained of problems, but so far, mine has worked with no issues and I am very satsified.

Too bad I can't find ANYWHERE to buy any of the GPS Springboards. Everyone who released them went on to recall them and cancel any new orders. If this has changed let me know.
