Ok. I'm probably gonna break down and upgrade my 95B OSR2.1 machine to 98. I've got both Win98 and Win98SE.

I've read that there are problems with SE and the Visor (USB).

Can anyone elaborate on these problems?

(regarding the AMD/Via thing, it's not an issue... I'm running a P2-450 w/ BX chipset)

Ok, I'll elaborate myself... hmmm...

Installed 98SE. No probs. Visor syncs fine.

Dumped the 98 shell using 98lite. Visor syncs fine.

Nuf said.

OK, that's good news...
Noww lets hope it work on my K6II too....

Hotsynch worked on my Win98SE machine for about 3-4 synchs.
I then rebooted (Word crashed) and found that when I pressed the hotsynch button nothing happened. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Palm desktop with no joy, I've also soft reset my Visor a few times.
I'll let you know if I get it fixed without downgrading to 98 standard.

PS: is anyone synching with Outlook 2000 mail and getting any results ?

Well, I got it working in the end. but unfortunately it needed a hard reset on the Visor and removing the visor* inf and sys files to do it.

Upgraded from Win95 OSR 2 to Win98SE on P2-300.
Able to hotsync with no problems, including AvantGo.

Also able to sync with Outlook Express, using first Mail then MultiMail with conduit.
