-- A 2nd 8mg handspring module (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=5534)
In sunday's Staple's flyer the was a posting for the 8mg Flash module for $39.97. This module normally sells for $79.00 which is what I paid for it last year. My local Staples honored the price. Now! What do I do with it? Will my Visor Dlx recognize it or will it be confused with my original module. How can I best utilize it. Any suggestions?
Thanks

did they make a mistake on the advertisement and then was forced to honor it? the local staples always mixes up the backup module and the 8mb flash in terms of placing the wrong prices/description tags with the wrong products.
Ad was a typo mistake, but my local Staples said they would honor the price, so they mared it down as a clearance item, give it a shot at your local Staples if you have Sunday's (july 16)flyer

dabirk, you should just buy a bunch of them and sell them on ebay and make some money!
will check in the papers for the ad. thanks for the info.
I just bought one at the Staples in Baltimore. They ring up at the register for the full price, but tell them the sales circular has it for the $39 and they will sell it for that.
I also had a chance to make two sales of the Visor Deluxe the past couple days, one at Staples and one at CompUSA. Two different ladies were looking for an organizer, and remembering the horror stories posted here about the Best Buy reps, I felt it was my duty to give them the facts and my opinion of how well I liked mine. After a lengthy discussion with both ladies I had them decided on the Visor DLX. I also gave them the link to Visorcentral for the reviews, discussion and information.
Chalk up two more Visorites for our team!

dabirk,
Thanks for the tip! I just went down to my local Staples and, after a little hemming and hawing, they honored the price. There were two left, I got one and the lady next to me took the other upon hearing the tip.
Thanks again!

I got it!!! At $41 w/tax, how could I not? The Staples I went to in Northern VA acknowledged it, and they just marked it in their computers as "wrong price on unit."
That stinks that your Staples wouldn't honor it Babylon5!
However, I DO recomend anyone who doesn't have any springboards, and could use more memory (even if you think you can do without it and just squeeze your programs in) to get this! I can't believe how easy it is to use, and how FAST the springboard activates and disengages from the Visor!! It's virtually instant!! (less than half a second!)
Enjoy everyone, and Babylon5, try going to a different Staples (with a copy of the sunday add, they should have them in the store) and when the price comes up wrong at the regester, show them the add and say that you refuse to pay any price other than the one they advertised, and that you'll go to the better buisness bureau for false advertising if they refuse to honor it (that is, if it comes to that!)
Good luck!

Dear Babylon 5
Even thought I live in Long Island NY, my son(MIS specialist) lives in Shadyside and my daughter lives in Upper St Clair with husband and twin children. I know that their local Staples always honor ad prices unless their is a sign posted claiming misprint. Keep trying. Good Luck)
PS my grandson owns a VDX and loves it

I got mine!! $38.97, and no tax since I live in Oregon!! Thank you StapleS!!!!!!
I need a 8MB flash. Can someone post the ad so I try my luck at Staples?
Thank you.
Thats on of the beautiful things with this....Staples keeps a big stack of the sunday add right on every counter....no need to even spend the money on a Sunday paper
Staples, like many supermarkets and a lot of other "big" national companies lately, often hires people who are not too bright and at very low pay, which means that even if on the ball, they don't really much give a damn. Then Staples has the newest, weakest employees work at the least desirable shifts.
I bought my 8 mg card today at 8:00 am on Long Island.
As far as I'm concerned, price errors like that is their cost of doing business if they don't want to pay a decent wage and/or hire knowledgeable staff.
Thanks for the hot tip dabirk!!
I just went down to the Staples in Queens, NY (on Van Wyck Service Road) and picked up a fresh pack of 8mg Flaxh Ram for only 39.97 + tax. It rang up at the regular $79.95 price but I showed them the sunday circular price of 39.97 and they put up no resistance. What a bargain! Thanks again. Keep us informed if you see any other good deals.
The nearest Staple around my area is about 30 miles away. I went down and cant find the sunday's ad. I asked around and none of them have it.
I was wondering if anyone willing to sell his extra 8MB flash module? I will use PayPal.

I got 2 at staples in NJ the manager(soon to be exmanager
) corrected it to 39.89 in the stores computer today and 5 of my friends went in and got 2 each also, and it rang up at 39.89 at the register! we also took the staples ad into a local compusa and they honored the 39.89 price too
the "sale"ends
7/22/00 so go get them !!!!!!!!!!!!
