Exclamation New Edge Problem

Here's a new one for you.

I am on my second Edge after dropping my first one. I've thoroughly enjoyed it so far. The other day, I happened to notice that at least four screws were missing from the edge of the Edge - they had come loose and fallen out!

I called HS and at first, the CS rep, Ashley, said she'd never heard of that problem and that I should look into buying some replacement screws, as for sunglasses. Uh...guess what my reaction was.

She said she could send me a replacement instead, and I said, "yup". I got the new one today, and just in time. There is one screw holding the bottom stylus holder in place and that came off my old Edge this morning.

As far as wear and tear, I just carry it in the breast pocket of my lab coat. I could understand the stylus thing coming loose after 500 snaps of the stylus, but the other screws loosening is beyond explanation.

Anyway, I'm definitely impressed with CS at HS.

Same thing! I just can't stand it. I don't care about CS anymore, it wouldn't need CS if it had good products, I'm just getting sick of Handspring and I'm very close to selling it and getting a Sony Clie.

Snugging the screws down isn't a bad idea -- I did it to mine when I got them just as a precautionary measure -- I know it shouldn't be nesessary, but we live in an imperfect world.

You may want to ask around about Sony's customer service before you do that. I love the clie and think it is a magnificent product, but if you are considering Customer Service as one reason for switching, think again... I have heard theirs is very poor.

Check out the Sony users group on Yahoo, and some of the links on Palmgear for some of the stories about Sony CS.

BTW, I have never had to deal with handspring customer service, but i have dealt with several people in Marketing and Sales and I have always found them quite pleasant and responsive.
