For those interested, here is a decent place to browse cases. The nice thing about this site is that although it is obviously geared towards accomodating Palms, the cases that will work with the Visor are actually noted "Works with all Handspring Visor products" Of course, some of them still rely on the velcro patch.

I'm still waiting for the one I ordered from Handspring, although I read a post about someone receiving their "Slim Leather Case" and not being too happy about it. Oh well, if I don't like it (I should say "If they ship it"), I might try one of the cases on this site.

I spent a good bit of time researching the case question and I settled on the Rhinoskin TI Slider, a Titanium hard case that opens easily and the cover goes to the back out of the way...it's nearly indestructable and will protect the Visor well...it comes with a nice belt pouch, too. SmittyTho: Do you actually have a Ti-Slider case yet? One thing I've been hearing is that the case doesn't really hold the Visor securely when it's open. Have you found this to be true? Seems kind of silly to make a case that can survive just about anything, only to have your PDA flop out onto the floor when you open it. Is it slim enough to fit in a shirt pocket?

So has anyone tried out this case?

You're right about the Visor not being 100% secure in it. It fits nicely, but it will fall out if you tip it too far.

To fix that, I've added velcro to the back of the Visor and back panel of the slider.

It works great now.

I was curious if anyone has purchased the InCase PalmTop PDA case http://store.yahoo.com/pilotgear/incasedesign.html

...I'm considering it based on the horror stories told of Visor free falls#@#$%#. I was hoping someone has one that could give me an opinion regarding the size of the case. I'm concerned of the bulk it will add to my BVDX. Many thanks in advance for any replies.

I will have a review of the Ti Slider when the site is back up. The Visor is held in with Neoprone (sic) lining and does not fall out when opening. However, it will fall out if you open it and then turn it upside down.

Very good case btw.

Am lokking into a neoprene case for my BVD. Am considering the Marware Sportsuit (www.marware.com) for $22.95 vs the InCase Palmtop PDA Case ($24.95 at PalmGearHQ, $17.99 at amazon.com). Anyone out there who has either of these items and be willing to share their opinion? The Marware case has a plus in that it opens like a book (allowing me to use it nicely) while the InCase case "flips" open which may make using more difficult. Responses welcomed.

I'll be getting the RhinoPak 2000 'Sport-Ute' of cases for christmas...i'll let you know how well it works in a little over 2 weeks!!

Leather Loft has zippered leather cases which fit fine for $10.00.

The Visor Slim case has a Visor cover sewn into it and hold the Visor very firmly. With the plastic cover, it is more rigid and protective than other palm-type cases I've seen. Also you can put it in screen in or for more protection, screen out. I'm very happy with it. Only problem is that it will be difficult, I think to store the modem in the springboard using this case. 'Course, *if* the modem is ever shipped...

What about paper/Visor cases? I currently keep my life in a "pocket" DayTimer zipper binder, everything including my checkbook, and have seen PDA cases which include rings for binder items. Is anyone using one of these? Are there recommendations?

Voxdei: I recently purchased a binder from Franklin Covey. It has a pocket designed for the Palm III series, but the Visor fits perfectly. The rings are big enough to hold your other 'stuff' and the binder is available in three sizes. Little pricey (over $100 including basic pages and dividers and Franklin Covey softward) - but still a very useful item.

I'm using the Franklin-Covey Pocket-sized binder (that's their classification, I didn't have pockets that big even when I was in the military) and it works great. It has a leather yoke on the inside front cover that, although designed for the Palm III, fits the Visor perfectly. It has a six-ring binder on the right, and pockets for money and credit cards. Zips shut, and closed its about 6" long by 5" wide by 2" thick. Leather is $100, fiber is $50. If you need paper, a place to put a normal sized pen (although there's an elastic loop for a stylus too) and wallet functionality, this is a great case. I've got a HandSpring leather case on the way for when I need a smaller profile, but the FC case is my default.

I don't even have the visor yet, but I know my potential uses. I think a zippered case is definitely in order. I think it would be nice if the pockets in the case were big enough to hold a Springboard or two...

A zippered leather case could be cool too.

I'd like it to fit solidly, I'd like to be able to take the Visor out of it easily.
