-- IR link with laptop (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1270)
I have a Sony PCG-705 and I want to know is there anyway for my BVx to communicate with the laptop's IR port?
Check out IRLink from IS/Complete.

There is also a free IR syncing program package out there from IBM. I heard from some folks that it also might work with Notebooks/Laptops that are not manufactured by IBM.
However, I don't know if that is gonna work for you. I think I read something about synching problems with USB (with serial it seems to work). I haven't tried it out, though. YMMV...
So before you try the IBM software, backup your data...
There are several threads here about IR syncing, just search for IR sync...
Hope this helps,

It's called WorkPad Sync and I tried it. The problem is not on the notebook end; it worked fine with my Sharp. But it doesn't seem to be able to coexist with the USB drivers on the Visor. I couldn't to a USB cradle sync until I uninstalled it. Perhaps there is a right combination of drivers that would make it work, but I couldn't figure it out.
But I believe it would coexist with a serical cradle.

keep in mind that you have to run a win9x OS to use IR syncing....
I use WorkpadSync with NT 4.0. It works great.
