-- Synching with Opera 5 (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10306)
Hi,
I've just downloaded web browser software Opera 5 and was wandering if anyone out there is using it as their mail client to sync with?
Same question but now Opera 6.01
Hi all,
Thought I'd drag this up from the distant past and see if any progress has been made.
I'm now using the excellent Opera 6.01 on my new PC for mail, news and web, after a sync-free six months since the USB port snapped off my old laptop!
I can live without mail sync (which I think requires MAPI), but I'd love to be able to sync or at least import my address book into Opera's contacts.
Any ideas?
TIA
I tried this once. I ended up sending my contacts over to Yahoo, then downloading them again in Eudora's format, then importing them to Opera. Very messy. I'd be interested in a simpler way.

Result...of a sort
dietrichbohn,
ok I managed to do it, but it's a bit of a kludge
I exported a csv file from Palm Dektop and imported to Outlook express, then imported that to Eudora's addressbook, from which I could import into Opera's contacts, followed by an hour or two getting rid of all the underscores! Phew.
I started out with an app called Dawn 5.1 from http://www.internettrash.com/users/zakharin/ which claims to do the job with PD4 and Opera 5, but I couldn't get it to work with PD 4.0.1 and Opera 6.01. YMMV
Good luck
I just found this which could be a more elegant solution..?
