Cool

I think that I have set the new Visor speed record. I had mine and got it up to 575 nautical miles per hour which equated to 1.04 Mach. Seems to have handled it just fine.

Are you a military pilot? (As opposed to a Palm pilot? Oh man, it's getting late!)

or maybe he took his visor on the concorde...

Ah, yes, I would say he is a military pilot. And if the member name would be a clue I would say he is a F-16 fighter pilot. They are known to suck up a lot of stuff hence the hoover in the front.

Alan, you are correct on the military pilot and being a F-16 pilot. The hoover comment is not even close. Although the Viper (F-16) can suck up rocks, etc. due to the power of the engine, I got named hoover because I look like the character Bob Hoover from Animal House.

Benasdf, the speed 575 knots is equivalent to 660 miles per hour and also 1.04 Mach. Mach is the speed of sound which varies with altitude. Kind of showing off but I'm too much of a simpleton to show off my knowledge of the Visor or the Palm OS although I am learning. Fighter pilots are know as not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Wink

I thought this was all about how much time it takes to sync.

My Visor only takes 8 seconds.

Ok Bill,

I know all about the speed of sound and the F-16 world. I work avionics on the thing. And about the comment about pilots not being the sharpest knives...well no comment. :-)

Congrats on the speed record

Andy Thomas had his Palm Pilot onboard MIR in March of '98 and returned to Earth via Shuttle. So until we get someone to fly a Visor...

Question

I'd be more interested in the G's it pulled. Speed by itself doesn't do much to electronics gear.

Wink

Did it have its own oxygen mask and tiny little flight suit?
