I was in "Best Buy" yesterday and noticed they had a Palm III? with a CLEAR case. Is this a new product? I don't see it on thier web site.

Does Palm even SELL the III anymore?

Palm III is discontinued, IIIe has a clear edition. IIIx is only greyish plack.

HipHop is right, the III is no longer being sold on the Palm.com site. However, you can still purchase remaining inventory from many e-tailers. Why you would buy one when the IIIe is available for the same price or less--as is the Visor--is beyond me.

The only compelling reason to buy a III now would have to be certain needs for FlashROM, but that could be solved for $40 more in a IIIx with several other benefits.
