Open a new memo pad document

Now, the "shortcut" symbol looks like a lowercase Cursive letter "L". You start in the lower left of the Graffiti area, make a loop, and end in the lower right.

Do the following in the graffiti area: Shortcut Dot Dot 7 (where "dot" is tapping the screen, and "7" is entered in the number graffiti area.

The name of a battery type will be printed in the memo pad.

Each time you do the sequence, it will cycle through the various battery types. The idea is to keep doing it until the printed type matches the kind of battery currently inserted into the Visor. There is no "NiMH" type, so use "NiCad" instead if you are using NiMH batteries.

What does this do for you? Mainly makes the battery gauge function properly and also helps with the appearance of the "Your Batteries ARe Low" message.

There are other shortcuts. BE CAREFUL, SOME CAN REALLY MESS UP YOUR VISOR! http://www.palmgear.com/faq/faq.cfm...=61&catID=3

Winchell, thank you very much for explanation. I could manage to switch the battery type to alkaline batteries, which I use. I am really curious about that "shortcut" and what it actually does -- or whether or nor it will give me a better battery gauge. ;-)))
For how long can you keep the batteries inside the visor when you see the low battery warning? I changed mine some minutes after the warning just to be on the safe side.
Thanks so far
Chris

Cool

Since getting mine in November of last year, it has only crashed twice (once around december, and again sometime in the spring). The only computer that crashes less often is my SGI O2 workstation, which hasn't crashed once since Spring, 1999, when we got it.

For me, no crashing and that annoying calc button problem went away also.

Excuse my ignorance but is the patch in RAM? If so, wouldn't a hard reset or fatal crash wipe out the patch too? Do you need to reinstall the patch after a crash. BTW, I have had a crash since installing the patch - corrupted game, I think.

1. Yes the patch is in RAM and it is backed up to your computer when you sync. So you will be able to get the patch back again when you restore.

2. hmm....Does the game happen to be Zap!2000?

Mine has just crashed for the first time ever, i have the patch installed. It crashed when running MobiBook, so i dont think it was the patches fault. I have noticed terrible battery drain though. My most recent set of batteries only lasted for 5 days. I calling for a replacement.

Lightbulb

Mine had that dram problem too and I haven't had a crash since installing the fix. Not much difference in battery usage with the new titanium energizers. I need to try the rechargeable alkalines etc and compare.

The info on the shotcut dot dot 7 is great now I will see what else.
