Winchell, thank you very much for explanation. I could manage to switch the battery type to alkaline batteries, which I use. I am really curious about that "shortcut" and what it actually does -- or whether or nor it will give me a better battery gauge. ;-)))
For how long can you keep the batteries inside the visor when you see the low battery warning? I changed mine some minutes after the warning just to be on the safe side.
Thanks so far
Chris
Since getting mine in November of last year, it has only crashed twice (once around december, and again sometime in the spring). The only computer that crashes less often is my SGI O2 workstation, which hasn't crashed once since Spring, 1999, when we got it.
For me, no crashing and that annoying calc button problem went away also.
Excuse my ignorance but is the patch in RAM? If so, wouldn't a hard reset or fatal crash wipe out the patch too? Do you need to reinstall the patch after a crash. BTW, I have had a crash since installing the patch - corrupted game, I think.

Mine has just crashed for the first time ever, i have the patch installed. It crashed when running MobiBook, so i dont think it was the patches fault. I have noticed terrible battery drain though. My most recent set of batteries only lasted for 5 days. I calling for a replacement.
Mine had that dram problem too and I haven't had a crash since installing the fix. Not much difference in battery usage with the new titanium energizers. I need to try the rechargeable alkalines etc and compare.
The info on the shotcut dot dot 7 is great now I will see what else.
