There has been an update on Handspring.com. They have a section answering some question about shipping. For instance, forget about getting confirmation emails. see www.handspring.com for more info

After reading the shipping update on the Handspring site I decided to call the toll free # to check on my order. After holding for nearly 20mins. I was told that they couldn't tell me anything without my confirmation number.

I proceeded to read the post from the web site to them and they asked when I had ordered. I told them 9/14. I was told no go they had NO information on orders that early. I asked to speak to a supervisor. After a long hold the CSR came back and asked for my name and approximately when I placed the order. I gave this to him and after several mins. he came back with ALL of my order info.

Hip Hip Hooray everything was there (even the change I made 2wks ago). I can now sit back and relax confident that when they do ship I will get my visor and it will be correct.

Hope this helps alievaite some of the concern over the paper ordering system. I think they can accually pull this off.

BTW : the CSR (Sean) should be commended he handled a difficult customer, me, with great care and thoughtfullness. Any thought I had about canceling my order is now history.

Hey Canadians...

Did you notice this....????

When will you ship the product internationally?

Currently we're only shipping to addresses in the United States.

We'll begin shipping internationally early next year.

That can't be right...
They are supposed to be shipping immediatelly to Canada and U.S.

It seems that right after the update went live on the Hanspring website, the phone number went down. They are now working intermidently.

I was able to get through as well. I placed my order on September 15. I asked to confirm my order and the CSR told me that since it was so long ago, it has already been sent out and neither he nor his supervisor could help. He did tell me that I should expect it to ship next week. Still shipping in October between the 4-6 week period. No promises broken yet.

The phone system is probably overloaded. The company I work for sells software for monitoring the load on a call center switch and reports the statistics to the supervisors and operators. It's amazing what a 1000 calls can do to phone system.

I hope things stabilize soon.

I don't mean to cause concern, but I just called Handspring to confirm my order and change to express shipping. The CSR couldn't find my order after searching though numerous databases. She took down some information and is going to have to call back with the information. She was very helpful and considerate during the 15 minutes that she spent searching for my order. I would recommend calling Handspring (not immediately) to confirm your order. I hoping that the intial CSR that I talked to just mispelled my name.

Kemp and All,
Keep your chin up. I also called and after a long time on hold I was able to speak to a very harried young woman who found me after about 10 mins of searching. She didn't want to help much until I told her that all us early orders were in a "catch 22" ie:
We were waiting for emails to confirm orders, then we are told that we would not be getting confermations, we were then in the position of waiting until our Visor showed up, or not, to know if our order had ever been ordered.
I can now try to forget that 4 weeks from September 14 at 7:34 pm was Monday, and 6 weeks is the 26th. ;-)

Angry

I called in and waited on hold for 45 minutes to check on my order and was greeted
by a very informative woman who simply told me that because my order was made around the 14th/15 that my order would be shiped in two weeks .... so I guess I'll see my visor in november.... exceptional lameness involved here ( this blows )
