IR dead on Prism?

Is there anyway to verify that the IR is working on a Prism (short of beaming to another palm)? I went to reload my Omniremote software the other day and wasn't able to "train" anything, it was like my IR was no longer working. Any suggestions?

My son once grabbed the TV remote and took it up to his room. We looked everywhere for it until we saw something flashing on his Video monitor once (for those of you without kids, a Video monitor is like a small TV with a camera you point at your child's crib or bed or wherever). It turns out that the flashing was the TV remote's IR transmitter. Most baby Video monitors use IR lamps and an IR sensitive camera to keep an eye on them at night. If you or a friend have a baby Video monitor, you could at least "see" whether the transmitter on your Prism is flashing.

I no longer have a baby monitor but I wonder if my camcorder might work? I'll give it a shot. If not I'll have to track down someone with a palm. Thanks for the tip.

I never responded but the camera idea actually worked. My sony camcorder has "nightshot" on it and this actually allowed me to see the IR blinking as it tried to transmit. Turned out it was my omniremote software and not my IR port.
