how do I get my avantgo to sync again, every time I try I receive the error message 5453 no server found or there was a dns error.
I have heard the Internet Explorer settings influence avantgo's syncing
After working correctly for several days all of a sudden I too couldn't get AvantGo to HotSync. The only way I could get it to work correctly was to re-install both the Visor software and the AvantGo software. Since then it's worked OK. Hope this doesn't jinx me.

On your visor, launch the mobile link application. Check the settings to see if they are correct. i.e. ping the server, and make sure the account is correct.
my settings:
server: avantgo.com
server addr: sync.avantgo.com
port: 80
user: <yourself>
password: -assigned-
if you can ping server, then check password
