-- Visor and PalmOS 3.3 Compatible? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=855)
Does anyone know is the Visor and Palm OS 3.3 are compatible. I would like to Sync my Visor with my laptop via IR.
If not...Any rumors when this might be available to the visor?
Do you mean the Palm Desktop and Hotsync? I sync my Palm Vx with the install from my Visor. Using a serial cradle though.
The visor doesn't have flash-rom, so it can't hold OS 3.3. However, a company made software for the visor that will sync via infared, do a search of the board, since I can't remember it's name. However, since the 8mb upgrade module for the visor has flash-rom it would be interesting to see if OS 3.3 could be installed into there.
Maybe, but you'd have to have the 8MB in all the time. I think if you install IRSync+(http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=17394619991227125500&prodID=1409)and 3com's enhanced Ir driver(http://palm.3com.com/custsupp/downloads/irenhanc.html), you should be able to use the IR port for syncing.
Syncing works great with the Visor and IR. I sync with my Toshiba Libretto 100CT (w/Win98SE) You need to get IR Link 1.5 from ISComplete. This is the version that works with the Visor. (www.iscomplete.com) The product is still in beta, but should be going gold by 1/16/2000. (That's when 1.5 Release Candidate 1 expires). Search this site for the thread discussing IR syncing.

David
