Cool How Many Modules...

I own the following:

Handspring Backup Module
Handspring 33.6 Modem ($30 at Staples)
SoundsGood (w/ EnergyClip)
EyeModule2

Very happy with them all, but I am going to hand the Handspring Backup Module off to my wife, when I get a 16MB backup for my freshly upgraded 16MB Prism. I am planning to add the Harigawa 16MB module to my collection at that point. The Handspring Modem was a steal at that price. The SoundsGood or EM2 is always in my Prism.

On a slightly off-topic question - they are getting to be a lot to carry with me. Here's the deal - the Visor Prism is always in my pocket. I want a case to carry everything BUT the Prism: All the modules that I mentioned, plus a celphone cable, RJ-11 cable, plus a GameFace, plus the TaleStuff Emergency Charger, plus the Stowaway Keyboard. I am thinking that the RhinoPak 3000 is the case for me.

I use the 3000 for just that purpose and it works great.

I have

Handspring Modem
Eyemodule
Soundsgood
Backup
Total Recall

I use the modem regularly when away from home. The Eyemodule I gets occasional use. The Soundgood is always in use. The Backup is new to me but will probably end up being the most used module. I like the Total Recall so far but have not played with it too much. Just yesterday I was using it in a store. It was much easier to pull it out with its battery pack and make a verbal note about something to price out later. I also had a thought when walking and instead of pulling out the Visor and writing while walking I recorded a note. The quality is okay for my use.

I have:

Backup Module
8 MG Flash
Thinmodem
Franklin Bible

Thinking of getting the 16 MG Hagiwara.

EyeModule2
Hagiwara 8MB Module
ThinModem
Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf

This is probably it till Christmas. I'll probably get MemPlug as I buy gifts.

I currently only have the Backup Module, but I am going to be getting a MemPlug(SM) once CompUSA gets them back in stock. I am also considering the Minstrel S with Omnisky service.

Posted by Vew on 07-27-2001 05:58 AM:

OmniRemote (don't use very often)
SoundsGood (love it love it love it)
Backup Module (no one should be w/o one!)
MemplugCF (just got it, seems very nice)

I get critized by my friends saying that my Visor will soon be able to do more than most computers in my school... i'm beginning to agree (we have compaqs, that's probably why)

I'd consider that a compliment. Anyway, for me:

8MB Flash Module
Backup Module
HS modem, from back in the $100 modem days...Grrr..

That's all. I use the 8MB module a lot, but still have 4 MB left together on my Visor and the module together. And Yes, I even have Noah Lite 5MB on it. I use the modem with FlipHack to read email, to check up on VC mobile, but mostly for updating AvantGo and reading it.

Posted by jhappel on 07-27-2001 05:35 PM:

Have:
HS Backup Module (used daily - I've seen what happens w/o backups)
EyeModule2 (love it)
MemPlug SM (w/ 64MB card)
Data Cable (to connect to my cell phone)
Stowaway (I now have the equivalent of a laptop in a PDA)

Want:
MP3 player (for traveling so I don't have to carry a CD player)
Modem (also for traveling in hotels that have modem lines in rooms)

Megellan GPS Companion (w/ car charger)
Xircom Wireline Modem

Only one SB so far....

I have a Xircom Wireless LAN module. Has some great features, module battery, battery charger, Blazer 1.1 and other apps. Just trying to get MovianVPN client working to make WLAN connection secure.

I recommend one.

Wink

I would gladly pass on a couple bills... but I spent it all on my handhelds I know, I am a total junky! I didn't even list the actual handhelds that I own... (but since you asked... V. Deluxe, V. Prism, Palm IIIC, M105, and Sony 710. Sickning isn't it...)

In my defence... I am a developer and so Palm'ing is not only my passion, but a business as well. That makes it better, right? Ok, bragg session over... thanks for listening.

Here in the extent of my obsession given my level of geek gear funding.

Backup module
8MB Flash
Omniremote
Eyemodule 1
Visor Phone

I generally leave in the Visor Phone all of the time. When I am out I carry a neoprene lined Altoid tin which is the perfect size for the Eyemodule, 8MB Flash Module and a pair of AAA cells. The Flash module comes out when I need use its reference materials or feel like playing games. The Eyemodule comes out when I need to make a visual note of something. The other 2 modules live at home.

I didn't buy the Omniremote, and probably wouldn't. It's not a bad module, I just don't need it enough to buy it. I never regretted the other modules.

That pretty much fills my current needs. Would like an eyemodule 2 but it might force me to consider other other carrying options which might just be a deal-breaker.

Backup Module
EyeModule
MemPlug
MiniJam
Stowaway keyboard (does that count?)

I have already posted on this thread but I as I have gotten more 'Visor'-stuff, I thought I should post again:

Modules I own:
MemPlug SM w/ a 64 MB card
eyemodule2
Hagiwara 8MB Flash Module
Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf Module

Modules my Dad owns but I use more than he does:
CardAccess Thinmodem with 56k flash upgrade

Accessories I own:
3-in-1 multifunctional stylus (pen, pencil, and stylus)
Grinder Gear Expedition SUB (kinda large for a case but it carries all my stuff: the Visor, two sets of batteries, my stylus, and all my modules)

Accessories my Dad owns bu I use more than he does:
Stowaway Keyboard

This is REALLY all I can get until the end of the year. I know I said that in my last post on this thread but I ended up getting the Memplug SM anyway but I really mean it this time. here is my wish list though:

1) Franklin 5 European Language Translator
2) Some kind of phone module more likely the parafone or maybe the VisorPhone (hey i have a distant relative that promotes VoiceStream wireless. Maybe I should listen to her
3) Some kind of GPS module (maybe the Magellan?)
4) A Stowaway Keyboard of my own
