battery drain

Hi I am using ni/mh 550 mah batteries, and I find they are draining like crazy. i would understand if I use my Visor dlx a lot or perform lots of hotsynchs but I don't. When I put newly charged batteries in, it does say 100% charge. ( I did use the .07 shortcut). But what is wierd is that even if I leave my visor off, after 2 days the thing is completly drained. The onlything I can think of is that I have the Total recall springboard on it all the time, but should this make a difference even when the unit is off?

Try leaving the module out for a while and compare the results. Also, some batteries are just bad (naughty battery!) If one of yours is faulty, it will mess things up for you.

I have NiMH batteries too, and although I will say that mine last longer than yours, mine don't last very long. In 2 days, how much do you use it? If you don't know, download Runtime . It can tell you exactly how long the visor's been on with those batteries. And do you use the backlight? If you do, somewhat often, that 2 days is perfectly understandable.

Also you said that you don't hotsync very often. The combanation of short lived batteries and sparce hotsyncing makes me STRONGLY recommend that you get a backup module. You never know when you'll be running low and not have any other batteries around.

Thanks for the replies. to answer the last post, I have it on maybe 15 minutes the first day including the hotsynch. I never use the backlight. When I close it on day one I usually have between 90-100% battery left. Then if I leave it off, approx 2 days later it is dead. If I do use it example today with freshly recharged batteries I did a hotsynch, then I played solitary for about 25 minutes and the battery meter both in megalauncher & the original palm screen say 100% and 2.6v. but if I close it down & use it in 2days or maybe even at the end of the next day it will be completely dead. For backups I do use backup buddy, which saves my life.
The problem seems to be the same for both sets of batteries. I checked in battery meter hack & it does say nimh/nicad.

Do you use a case (or no case at all) where the hard buttons could be pressed, keeping the Deluxe on, and subsequently drain the batteries? If so, there are programs you can download that will disable the hard buttons when the device is turned off.

your problem is not the batteries, but rater a "locking" state of the serial port. This means that the springboard (even empty) is constanly open and consumes energy.

Try to do a hard reset (after backing up) This will probably solve your problem.
