-- Omnisky Email Question (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9550)

Maybe some of you that already have Omnisky can answer some questions about the email program for me:

1) Can I use the Omnisky email program to check my @home email? If so, will it notify me when I get new messages there?

2) Can I sync the Omnisky email program with my Outlook Express on my desktop computer? If not, can I use the mail program that came with my Prism to send and recieve email?

TIA

I am also getting started with Omnisky...but from what I know:

Any POP3 email account can be accessed with Omnisky mail. I have been able to get my yahoo mail in addition to my omnisky mail. Each mail account in Omnimail has the option for the Minstrel notification.

BTW, do you use any 3rd party Launcher?? I had problems with MegaLauncher and had to disable it for Omnisky to work.

Good luck.

I dont use any launcher. I haven't found a good color one yet.

The reason I asked about the email syncing with Omnisky mail is, if I download email to my Prism, I want to make sure it gets to my Outlook Express, since that is my main email program.

Kgeisler,

Launcher in Color? Try the beta of Launch 'Em 3.0b8. http://www.synsolutions.com/beta/

The Omnisky Email Clientdoesn't delete your email on the server. You have to tell it to do that. If you don't the email will still be there for Outlook.

At least it is there for me. :-)

You can get mail from your @Home account, but you have to set your account up to do so (check out member services on the @Home website). The POP server you'll need to connect to then is netmail.home.com

Mike

Yes,

You get your own Omnisky email. [email protected]

I know that you get your own email but I have an email account that only provides a POP3 server for getting email but for sending email, it says I need to use my "service providers" smtp server. Now does omnisky have a smtp server i can use for outgoing email? (ie: smtpserv.omnisky.net)??

Thanks,
Mike
