Had a problem with the first download of the conduit, but it's fixed now. Chubby....

Wordsmith

The website and the readme seem to differ, It doesn't look like Wordsmith will work under X right now...I get a Hotsync error that the Hotsync manager I'm using is either too new or too old.
For what it's worth, i've been using Pocket Quicken for about a month and It's worked perfectly...

Plucker?

How does Plucker work on OSX? I've heard a lot of people are switching to Plucker after AvantGo's "beat down" on sites that won't pay them. Plus Plucker takes up a lot less room. It can be a pain to configure though.

Thumbs up Plucker!

I'd recommend Plucker to anybody who has rudimentary Unix skills... I installed it a couple of weeks ago and it works great! Basically, you need to first download and install Python, then install Plucker, and neither of these are very Mac-friendly procedures, but they do go smoothly from the command-line. Here's what I did:

Even for people who don't have much Unix command-line experience, I guess I'd recommend installing this if you have any interest in getting such experience. It's really a pretty easy install (compared to trying to compile/port other programs). Don't be afraid!

Cool AvantGo works fine with malsync utility on OS X

The standard utility for accessing AvantGo on Linux is called
malsync. It is available through AvantGo's web site, and also
through its official website.

I ported it to OS X, and have provided a patch to the maintainer,
Tom Whittaker, who has provided a prebuilt binary on his web
site.

Limitation: you'll need a USB-serial adapter and a Visor serial
cradle in order to use it, since malsync accesses the handheld
through a serial port. On Linux, there is a driver that makes
the Visor USB cradle look like a serial port, but there is no such
driver yet for OS X.

I use malsync daily to sync up to AvantGo's service through OS X
with no problems, using a Keyspan USB PDA adapter and the
Visor serial cradle.
