-- How to connect visor to a serial port device? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=5257)
Hi,
I have Ricochet wireless modem which is just like a Hayes modem. The question I have is how do I connect visor to the modem so that I can use the 'modem' and 'network' tab to communicate to the outside world?
Ricochet only sells a cable for Palm III.
Can I use the serial cradle and adapter like null modem, gender changer to achieve this?
Or do I have to buy something like EFIG handspring diagnostics card?
Thanks for any answers!
-Frank
If the software doesn't require full "modem control" the serial cradle should work. It's a bit clumsy for casual use, though... I'd really like a "serial hotsync cable".
check out a similar discussion under the "Accessories" forum. You're right, though. You need a serial cradle or cable, and a null modem. Then it's just a matter of configuring the modem and network prefs.
