Nokia Phone Visor Cable
I am using a Nokia 8860 and was wondering if anyone knew about a cable that was compatible. I have seen many for the Motorola StarTac, but I would really love to have the ability to go through the phone I have now.
Thanks

Why would you use a cable when you could just use the irda port?
Does the 8860 have an IR port? I seem to remember that it doesn't-- and that it's also a TDMA phone, which puts it into the "can't use it wireless with a PDA" category....
nokiausa.com/8860 says no irda port. sorry about the wrong assumption.
psst, get a 8290, they are cooler and they come with an irda port
Hey Guys,
I have been thinking about this setup myself--one question:
Do you have to get specal "modem minutes" or can you simply
use the cell phone's modem and they won't notice the difference
between voice and data?
Thanks,
Drew
If the phone is digital, I believe that you can just call up you ISP (assuming that it is a dial-up connection and not a cable modem or fiber optics) I don't know how the visor would be able to interpret the modem signals though from a direct link with a cell phone.. now I am confused...
tedx - how can anything be cooler than the chrome casing and slide cover of the 8860
I do wish that it did have an iR port though...
Also, it is very hard to find service for any of the wireless springboard modules in Maine.

Nokia 8860 / Visor - Data Cable
Question: Do you have the PC Data Cable for your Nokia 8860 phone?
If so, I suspect that the following adapter cable will work:
PDCH-M9-6 from www.pcables.com
That's a RS232 adapter cable, so it should work.
