Faster backups free?

I just got a backup module, and was shocked at how slow it was. I then read about how Backup+ makes backups faster because it runs from the visor and not the module. But it costs money. Is there any free program that does this, but without the scheduling?

I use Filez to set the backup bit of all the files on my Visor. Then at each sync, any updated files get backed up to my PC.

On the downside, it makes sync times longer, and you don't have a portable backup with you, but so far I haven't needed one yet.

For some reason I haven't yet figured out, it doesn't back up the DBs for the built in apps, like DatebookDB or MemoDB and the like.

Either I don't understand you, or you don't understand me. I DO have portable backup, and want to know how to make backing up to the backup module faster.

I think that IMABUG was looking at your overall problem of slow back-ups, not necessarilly your specific configuration. I believe what he is suggesting will work for you without any additional cost.

I use backupbuddyVFS:free and back-up to a compact flash adapter. This works well for me as I have a DataQuake16 and a Thinmodem+ that I have copies of the VFS drivers from Kopsis on. If I have a hard reset, I copy the drivers to the handheld, pop in the CF adapter and do a restore.

Unhappy

aaaaaaaaah! nobody gets my problem! i mean i've got a BACKUP MODULE. not any type of memory module. and I'm talking about BACKUPS to the BACKUP MODULE.

Here's the review that talked about how Backup+ made backups to the BACKUP MODULE faster: http://www.visorcentral.com/content/Stories/1298-1.htm .

No, there isn't. Backup+ is only $7.95 though.

Ok, there's the answer I wanted. Thanks. (Well, it's not really the answer I really wanted...)

I can't justify spending anything for something I can just do while sitting on the bus doing nothing else, or some other time. Oh well, thanks anyway.
