Thumbs down

Just got my eyemodule 1. It's exactly what I expect. Yeah yeah, the resolution isn't hot, but I knew that, so I'm not disappointed.

One thing bugs me and I believe I've read about this. I used NiMH batteries and in order to take a picture I have to change the battery type back to Alkaline, take the picture, and change the batter type back to NiCad.

AUGH! What a chore! Does anyone know a fix for this? If my batteries are totally topped off, should I expect this problem to go away or will it always do this?

Just wondering.

its a matter of voltage

the reason your eymodule isn't working with NiCad's is voltage. The eymodule requires 2.5v to operate. I don't think NiCad'sare capableof producing that even on a full charge. Nickel Metal Hydride type rechargables might reach that voltage but I'm not sure.

No, I'm using NiMH. There is no NiMH setting, only Alkaline, Rechargable Alkaline, and NiCad, so I use the NiCad setting.

Blocks Product just released an update to eyemodule2 software that corrected this problem for the eyemodule2.

But as I look at their site now, I see they have no new update for ver1 eyemodules.

Maybe the near future they will make a change.

What I use to do with my eye2 (before the update) is use a hack called Battery Meter Hack 1.2. This changes the battery icon on the launcher to show you the battery icon as well as voltage/percentage. If you click on the battery icon you can quickly change the battery setting from there. I would change the battery setting then pop in the eye2 mod. When I was all done I would switch the battery setting back. It's still an extra step but it's better then going to memo pad and doing a .7

good luck
