-- Idea for VisorEdge expansion (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=12954)

Lightbulb

This is pure fantasy on my part, but I would love to see an expansion unit with these features:

It would be okay if only one of the interfaces was functional at any one time, but it would make the VisorEdge a universal PDA supporting all of the popular standards.

Considering how much they have managed to squeeze into the standard springboard sizes, it would seem to be childs play to do this with this amount of surface area. After thinking about it a bit more ... offer wireless and memory expansion and I don't even need the other interfaces.

It's impossible coz the total thickness of a bare Edge and a standard springboard module is more than 0.8 inches.

True, it would have to be slightly thicker than a deluxe but I still think it's a great idea.

Wink

It sounds like the edge would be a nice add on to your solution.

LOL!!

I completly agree with you george_vc. This reminds me of the six pak (NOOOOOO!!!!!!). Trying to squeeze too many things into a small area is never a good idea.

Technicly wouldn't that be possible? I mean, it might not be possible to use BOTh a springbaord and flash at the same time, but IF it has 3 slots (CF, MMc, Smart), PLUS the springboard slot. AND if it COULD use do that once (some onboard circuirty)IT WOULD BE AWESOME!

That might be done, but what I think is more logical.

HAndspring made a plastic somewhat ugly springboard adapter, that they give away free. THAN they SELL a $40 dollar one, that's alluminum, and matches the color of the visor. It would be sleaker, and just thick enough t oaccomodate a springbaord. SO!
