-- Turning the 'auto off' off (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2525)
I am wondering how to turn off the 'auto off' feature of the Visor. I would like to keep my Visor on except when i turn it off. I also have the Keypad hack on. Will that effect/affect any process that turns the auto off off?
Hey,
You can go to http://palm-visor.8m.com/home.html and download a pocketc applet that lets you set the auto-off to anything or jsut disable it.
Socrates,
there is also a shortcut that disables the auto-off feature:
First you have to enter the shortcut stroke (looks somewhat like a longhand small 'L') - it's also in the manual, I think - then enter a '.' and a '3'.
To turn it on, just do a soft reset.

You can also use the lowercase cursive L.3 shortcut to enable auto-off after disabling. The shortcut works as a toggle, disable then enable, etc.
Just remember the consequences of leaving your Visor on and draining the batteries....No More Data!!!
I would rather install a hack or program that allowed me to set it to turn off in 30 minutes or something. At least I wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night wondering if my Visor is off.
Take a look at the utility ATool. Has lot's of neat features including the aqbility to set Auto-Off anywhere from 30 seconds to 8 hrs.
