Question

I received a Backup Module for Christmas and I'm looking to
compare notes with other Backup Module users.

Until I got my new modules (Backup, Thincom & MemoryAccess) I didn't know what resets were!

I inserted the Backup Module and performed a backup. I then
removed the module and my Visor was hung up. I read the info with the module, disabled all hacks and tried again (after a reset).

Same results! I messed around some more and the only way I've found to do a backup and NOT hang the Visor is to return to the applications screen before removing the module.

Is this normal? Looking for help/input from all the VC forum users...

If you are using a Visor Solo/Deluxe it is quite normal, however, if you are using a Prism or Platinum you won't have to exit the application to avoid resets.

Hope this helps

Don't be running the app thats on the module when you pull it out.. I usually switch back to the launcher (where you see all the application icons) before I put in or remove a module.

I have far fewer resets since I started doing this..

I've had a backup module for about a year. Locked up when I first received it, used it and yanked it out after a backup. Then someone on this board recommended you return to apps after the backup was complete. I always return to the apps before pulling the module out. Never had a problem since.

A module developer offered these tips. Basically, making sure you're not running an app from the module before removing it is the best advice.

Thumbs up

In my Prism I can pull out the Backup module after I finish doing a back up without exiting to the main application menu.
