Just got off the phone with CSR "Shane" - he was shocked and amused when I told him I ordered a Visor off the web site last week and had an order number.

I wanted to arrange for overnight shipping - response: They have no access to web orders...they aren't being processed until the phone orders are, and therefore couldn't help me. He more than implied the web transactions aren't just being put behind the previous phone orders, either! I was careful to ask about this. His quote was very close to "Look, over the phone we type your order into the system now. Orders off the web haven't been entered into the system yet so I can't look you up."

I ordered little more than a week ago...late compared to many using this board, I know. But, rest assured! While my credit card number is sitting in someone's Inbox if you order one over the phone EVEN NOW you'll probably get yours well before I get mine, according to "Shane".

Handspring's general policy seems to be a FIFO process: First In, First Out. The fact the you placed a web order simply puts you behind all of us who had _already_ placed an order over the course of the first three weeks of "Reserve Order" ability.

If people order Visors over the phone today, you will most likely still get yours before they get theirs. Handspring is being fair about the whole process. So chill.

The conversation with that CSR threw me - and the more posts I read here the more I realize that no one there really knows anything anyway...they're guessing just like we are.

I guess I also regret waiting so long to order. I could've REALLY used it these days - the head honchos where I work are looking at picking up PDAs for the entire staff and I wanted to include the Visor as a contender. By the time I bring it in it may be too late - Handspring might be losing out on a decent size corporate purchase.

I hope they realize things like this are happening. I wonder if anyone at HS looks at these posts...

I'm hoping that Handspring folks are way too busy completing our orders to be looking at these posts
