PiDeveloper: Need Help
Just downloaded and installed the newest updater for my MemPlug.
Ran the Updater and everything went fine. The only application/Databases that were in /Palm/PiDirect is a program called MarkMyScriptures available at www.skimware.com. This program had worked fine under Beta3.
Once the the module was updated, I attempted to run MarkMyScriptures and the program opened. When I attempted to switch documents inside the program I got a Fatal Error. Performed Soft Reset and moved the application and all its data to RAM, app now works fine. However, now when I attempt to open any of the Pi Apps I get the following:
Fatal Alert
../Src/HsExtCard.c,
Line:4408,
HsSysPatchRemove err
RESET
I have to perform a soft reset to get back going. I thought maybe I should reformat the card and start over, but I cannot get into PiPrefs, because I get the same error message.
Any suggestions PiDeveloper?
I am running a Visor Prism with OS 3.5.2H1.4, which is the most recent update HandSpring has available. I have no Hacks or OverClocking software installed.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Okay, tried using Eraser to clean up the Flash and then reflashed the Module using V1.5. Still had the same Error Messages. Decided to use Eraser again and go back to V1.4. Got the Fatal Alert Reset Loop. Followed the directions and used Eraser again, this time the Update seems to have taken. I am now back to V1.4 and it seems to be running fine.
I will be very interested to hear any thoughts you might have on this.
Also, I have the Handspring ContrastAdjust Utility installed on my Prism. Not sure if they would play a role or not, but I wanted to let you know.

Out of curiosity, is that proper protocol? I hate to use the boards in an irresponsible way.
Usually PiDeveloper just copy and pastes a section of the FAQ or tells the person to e-mail them at their support address anyways.

You are right. I would probably be better off posting on the Yahoo Forum. However, my email address should change this weekend so I will wait until after Saturday to register on that board. Hopefully PiDeveloper will see this and be willing to give me some ideas.
Thanks Matt.

Downloaded and installed V1.5 again. Once I got the Update installed all the Pi Apps were responsive. No Fatal Alerts or Soft Resets needed. However, once I try to use MarkMyScriptures I get the Fatal Error message. Looks like something they changed does not get along with this program. Still not sure why Moving all the MMS files from /Palm/PiDirect to Internal RAM caused so much havoc. Perhaps it somehow caused corruption.
So, I am back to V1.4 until 1.6 is released. Perhaps that will resolve the issue with MMS.
PiDeveloper, could my problems have been because I moved Files from /Palm/PiDirect into Internal RAM with PiDirect Enabled?

There is a problem with Mapopolis in 1.5 that was not in 1.4. It causes a crash. Must be something to do with the way they made it work faster.
I use MyBible and it went from taking 25 seconds to load down to 7. I will give Mapopolis up for that, since I do not use it that often, but I can understand how this could be a problem for you. I could not statnd it if my Bible program did not work.

BDicty
PiDeveloper, what about making BDicty working again?
It works just great for 0.3 but generates "Fatal exception" in 0.4
One more to look at
PiDirect also causes a program called 'Airport Insight' (notamd.com) to Fatal Exception (v1.3 and 1.4) whenever it tries to search it's own R/O Database in RAM.

Maybe next week, or the week after next.
We are still investigate some other incompatibility problems reported.
Btw, currently most reported problem is fixed.
- Fix the conflict with TrapWeaver
- Fix a memory related problem introduced in beta4
I have done some brief tests, to ensure the following programs compatible in next release of PiDirect:
- MarkMyScriptures
- BDict
- Mapopolis
- Airport Insight
Thanks for reporting.

Support for FireViewer 6.0
FireViewer is one of the applications where I would like to store all my pictures. The zoom feature makes it really great and I guess I would die to see PiDirect support for it.
Thanx

I have tried anything to make it work but nothing, the only thing that I keep getting is fatal errors. Some questions:
1)Does it matter what the type of compression mode of the images?
2)What databases should be under /PiDirect/, all or some of them?
3)Could the application be under /PiDirect/?
4)Is FireViewer 6.0 supported?
Thanx
