Definitely. The screen has been pasted in, it is interpolated and blurry and it doesn't martch the rest of the image at all.

But it will probably still resemble it I would imagine! Here's to hoping!

Ok, I'll admit it, I did the pic myself. pretty darn good for a first time doctoring, don't you think? Anyway, I hope that's what it will look like (hopefully with more color faceplate options though).

Palm InfoCenter are saying that there are rumors that the Handspring will be releasing info on a new color model called the Visor Twist at the upcoming PCExpo.

Man.. that would suck. I hope Handspring accepts a tradeup from a normal Edge to a color one, if it's released this quickly

If it's $50 like it used to be for the Prism, I would have gone for a new thinner color one instead of the greyscale Edge.

I think the reference is to the period when the edge was $400, the Prism $450.

Yeah.. imagine that you just bought an Edge for $399 a month ago, then the Prism drops in price and Visor releases a color Edge for $450. Wouldn't you be annoyed if you just bought a B/W Edge?

This is good speculation by everyone, but Handspring has no intention of releasing a color Edge in the near future. You may ask how I know this, well, I am just giving my $.02 worth, that's all. I think we won't see any new products for a couple of months. If I were you, it would be wise to jump on some of the new promotions Handspring is running on their website. For example, you can trade-in/up for an Edge, which is a fairly good deal.

I already have an Edge And I was the buyer of the first batch out here in Malaysia. I was contemplating whether to get the Edge or the Prism. I would have gotten a color Edge if it was out then and wouldn't have minded paying the premium for color.

In a way, I would prefer that Handspring delay releasing a new Color Edge model. I want them to create something that's better than the M505. I'm really hoping that they build in Bluetooth support in their next model.

Not really. Toby said something along the lines of you pay what it's worth to you, and that worth isn't dictated by MSRP. I may wish I'd have waited a while, but waiting wasn't a viable option. My deluxe bit the dust when it did, and I needed a pda.

The Edge is worth $399 to me, if a color Edge came out, although a B/W Edge's value is still the same to me, I now don't have $399 that I could use to buy the color Edge that I would have rather bought. The color Edge value then becomes $450-(value of Edge that I can get selling it second hand), in other words more expensive.

So there is still reason to be slightly annoyed. But I don't need a color Edge just yet.

- still can't send email attachments of .jpgs from SMedia cards (only view them).
- still no email applications that can view .jpg .gif attachments for PalmOS.

I just bought a Silver Edge a couple of weeks ago and even though I don't always have money to burn, I would buy a color Edge the day it came out at retail or purchase one directly from Handspring. I don't have a problem with greyscale screens, I just prefer the color screen on the Prism.

How many of us didn't take advantage of the upgrade, because we are waiting for a color version? I came close to upgrading from my VDx, but held out. I hope there is an announcement in September.

I'd bet to say that a Color Edge might have be released around the end of the year. Maybe to take advantage of holiday shopping season? Now for this to happen HS would have to be ramping up now for production to even have any product ready for a end of the year release date.

I held off as well. I have my lowly VDx and an "ancient" PalmPilot Pro with the 2MB upgrade card which is acting as a really nice paper weight (it still works, but the screen is a little flaky and doesn't always turn on). I would have traded in the PPPro and upgraded my VDx for two Edges if they were in colour (and I would have just given the VDx or spare Edge to my Mom).

Now with WordSmith v2.0 on the horizon with FineType requiring a colour display, I'm really wanting a colour device now. Getting the Prism would let me keep using my Stowaway, but it the Prism has always looked on the thick side to me. I might as well get the new CLIE N710C if no colour Edge surfaces any time soon.

Off topic, but what was the rumoured Visor Snap? Yes, I've been under a rock.

Quite a few, none of them accurate. Last I heard, it was going to be a color version of the edge with higher resolution than 160 x 160. No telling if it's real or a pipe dream at this point, however.
